Alumna Supports Future Hawks With Real Estate

Linda Pogoda

Linda Pogoda ’75

For loyal alumna and volunteer Linda Pogoda ’75, the decision to include Monmouth University in her estate plan was an easy one. From the moment she first set foot on campus as an eager freshman from New York City, Linda’s love for Monmouth has run deep.

For 24 years, she has included the University in her annual charitable giving and has served as an enthusiastic regional ambassador for the University. From making alumni connections to recruiting prospective students in her home state of Florida, Linda has always stayed connected to Monmouth.

Linda recently retired from a distinguished 36-year teaching career in Broward County, Florida, middle schools, and soon after, shared her intentions to make a deferred gift to the University through her estate plan.

Linda has generously chosen to leave a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of her home (upon her passing) to Monmouth to establish an endowed scholarship for education students and female student-athletes. As an elementary education major and volleyball player at Monmouth, these areas are close to Linda’s heart.

By structuring her will this way, Linda will be able to one day accomplish her personal giving goals at Monmouth, and her remarkable legacy and commitment to future generations of Hawks will live on in perpetuity.

“Monmouth is my second family, and it felt right to extend my support [of Monmouth] beyond my lifetime,” says Linda. “I’m thrilled to be able to one day leave an imprint on Monmouth that matches my tremendous love for the University.”
