Gina Raccuglia“My mom is a Monmouth alumna. Growing up, I loved hearing stories about her time on the soccer field with her teammates. To this day, she remains close with all of her Monmouth friends. When it was time for me to choose a college that is something that really resonated. Cost was also a consideration. Since I was solely responsible for funding my college education, scholarships and financial aid were the only way I could access the Monmouth experience. Especially as a science major, I recognized how instrumental donor support was for scholarships and my lab work. Learning in state-of-the-art laboratories with new equipment was crucial to my success in the classroom.

As I learned from my mom, college is also about community. I became a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority as a freshman, and it has completely shaped my life. I was surrounded by women who uplift and support each other, pushing everyone to be their very best. This was especially meaningful through the hard times brought on by the COVID–19 pandemic. Thanks to the support from alumni, donors, and the local community, Monmouth gave me the opportunity to grow and empower myself and others. I cannot express my gratitude enough.

Please make a gift today to provide continued access to the Monmouth experience to students like me, and to those who will come after.”
